Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Dehradun holds high position,and has the esteem and pride of being one of the premier educational institutes of Dehradun. This school was established in 1980 near PNB, Kaulagarh Road. Being one of the Constituent units of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous organization under MHRD, Govt. of India, this project sector KV is sponsored by the ONGC Limited. The School has carved a niche on the academic map of the country by accomplishing all the objectives and targets set by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan HQ, New Delhi.

It is a pioneering institute crowned with exemplary academic results and outstanding achievements in co-curricular activities by the students. A total of 64 permanent staff members and about 18 contractual teachers take pride in their dedicated pace setting work culture. They disburse quality education for about 1750 students studying in different streams, facilitate an all-round holistic evolvement of the child and ensure that their students continue to put their best foot forward at all times with honesty, sincerity, self-discipline and self-confidence.
